Why do I find it hard building an Indian Movie Selection?

                                           Why do I enjoy Black & White movies so much?

Despite having a growing selection of movies from India, if you were to view the dates, you would find the films are mainly Black &White from before the creation of Bollywood in the 1990's, why?

Before Bollywood, ladies were classed mainly as co-stars, but given credit, names such as Nargis Dutt, Nutan, Lalita Pawar, and Nanda to mention a few are recalled as fine actresses in their heyday. It is true, mainly were in as the romantic interest for the leading man, yet they were regarded with esteem for their work.

From the creation of Bollywood, until a few years ago, ladies with talent such as Raveena Tandon, Rani Mukerji, Madhuri Dixit, and Shefali Shah were only seen as romantic interest for either Salman Khan, or Shah Rukh Khan. I am pleased to see the trend is changing as seen above, the lady in the centre is Raveena Tandon in a story about the two-sides of family life; a man can go out all night, and not be questioned, yet a woman cannot complain.
