I would agree

Many people I knew said I was akin to a Bryonic Hero, the hero with a darker side, that I think is a fair comparrison, and a great compliment.

While I wouldn't dash to a country as Lord Byron did to fight in Greece, I am known for standing my ground, which earned me the monicker, Don Quixote, on one writing site, when I stood up against the site favourites for the site not keeping to its rules, and allowing the group to dictate what happened, usually to the benefit of the few in the group.

A phrase I would definitely use to describe myself comes from Lady Caroline Lamb, when describing Lord Byron, she said "He's mad, bad, and dangerous to know."

There are many sides to me, other than the romantic Byronic Hero. I am like a Brazil nut, sometimes hard to get to, but worth the time. 

The only praise my father gave me was saying I am a better photographer than he was. That is because we had different styles, he was a good still photographer, were I preterrd life photography.

The praise my mother gave me was I am better cook than her,  My cooking is self-taught, and basic, but it fills your stomach.

Barbra Streisand lookalike 

I don't chat with my friend, Svetlana, in Valencia because I think she looks like Barbra Streisand, a compliment she liked. Nor because she has nice breasts, I haven't told her that. After she contacted me on SoulmateMeets, I saw that when her is down it flows like waves on sand.

I know, I am old romantic, I am not going to change. This is the Byronic Hero in me. While we get on well, Svetlana is one of the ladies I consider out of my league, she runs a business.

Running a business doesn't leave much time for romance, despite our education differences, she said she doesn't consider me below her.

From her looks, and name, I would think Svetlana comes from the Baltic region, or Russia.

I can be a problem

I have written much about the reactions of mature ladies to my appearance on Charming Talks, but little about what I am looking for, now is the time.

What I am looking for is a soulmate, not necessarily a sexual partner, though I am capable of making love. 

The thing which matters most to me, is that we get along as friends, beyond that is a bonus. At my age (70), the idea of sex, is a hope, with my health issues, I cannot blame a lady with desires for not wanting to be with me. I can be a problem, I am very much a Byronic Hero type, who loves passionatley, and has a darker side.

As a sidetrack, this may amuse you, I am reading a biography of Lord Byron written by Edna O'Brien, yes, a man reading a lady writer.

 That to some people is strange, but what about Agatha Christie, P,D. James, and Mary Anne Evans AKA George Elliot.

The last thing I look at is the the gender of a writer. 

To round-off from the opposite side of the coin, there are some male writers I can't read.
