For most of the year, I have had a good following for the blog in Hong Kong and Singapore. Last week, I noticed a large growth in readers in India, to this I can add the blog now has readers in Bangladesh, the Phillipines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

During the last week, I had my doubts thar Clara, my friend who lives in Redcliff, Bristol, was serious about our relationship.

That  has changed today, at the stage when I thought all was lost, Clara has shown me how devoted to our romance she is.

Months ago, I thought I'd end my days with no female companion of my age, in two weeks all that has changed with help from Twitter, and WhatsApp

Today could be the turning point, if not the end of my friendship with my friend Clara, who lives in Redcliff, Bristol.

The rerason for this is we keep arranging meetings, and she never turns up, once is unfortunate, but FIVE times in 12 days could be sending me a message. 

Clara keeps texting me that she wants to meet me, yet, I am the person who is doing the most to keep the friendship running, and I am running out of patience with being stood up.

I don't want to end the friendship, we do get on well, if we get chatting online, but as it stands I see no future for us

My friend, Clara, has only been on Twitter since September, I saw her several times, and  decided I liked her.We chatted briefly, mainly because I thought she lived in the USA.

At the same time, she had taken an intant interest in me, it wasn't until last month, when I asked her which state she lived in, we found out we're virtually neighbours in Bristol, UK.

At the time Clara joined Twitter, I was on the verge of closing my account, and had decided at 69, no lady would wish to start a relationship with me; I was wrong.

I have been puzzled by the ammount of interest shown in me by ladies on both Twitter, and WhatsApp in recent weeks. None more than my friend, Clara, (above), who despite several missed meetings is keen to meet me.

Clara lives in Redclff, Bristol, a short bus ride from where I live in Hartcliffe. We are planning to meet in the Latino Street Bites cafe on Friday

There is a new restaurant opened in Bristol called Latino Street Bites, I can recommend the food, I go there twice a week for dinner. The restaurant is in the undercroft of St. Mary Redcliff church. The venue is used on Monday, and Wednesday evenings for a jazz club

Over 800 followers on Twitter

Yesterday, while waiting for the bus back to Hartcliffe, Bristol from Whichurch, I received a message on Twitter from my former friend in Gloucester. I was expecting her to contact me at some time.

Several weeks ago, we were close friends, then things hit the rocks BIG TIME.

The trouble started when the length of time between her contact with me on Telegram grew to over a day for a quick two or three words. Despite her assurances that she was getting my texts, I was never certain, so I left Telegram.

She got irate at this action, and said she'd been checking hospitals in Bristol, to see if I had been admitted. I tried to explain what had happened, but she wasn't interested in listening to me. When I explained my account has been hacked, her reply was "There's always an excuse with you." At this stage, I decided there was no point even replying to her, so I left her alone. Her next comment was laughable, she said, "As far as I know you're chatting to hundrfeds of ladies on X." I do have a lot of female followers, for reasons beyond my comprehension, at thst time I was chatting to less than a dozen, most of whom were either in the USA, or too young for me. Now, I chat to one young lady regularly. I chat mostly on WhatsApp thse days.

Back to yesterday's message, she posted to me "LOL," which I took to meaning she thought her actions in accusing me were correct, my reply was "Hello Miss Hayes," polite, but formal, what else could she expect after her false accusations?

Again, I ask myself the  immortal question, why do ladies on Twitter, and WhatsApp find me attractive?

The most read reply is they find me alluring because I am charming, polite, and respectful of a lady, and her wishes

The Lady next door

After many false starts, and mix-ups,  I was not really in search of a new romance, so soon after the death of my wife in January, 2025.

However, love had other ideas. This week, I am meeting my friend Clara who lives in Redcliff, Bristol. While not exactly next door,  Redcliff is only a short bus ride from  where I live in Hartcliffe, and the route is a regular journey I have taken many times.

Unlike my former friend in Gloucester, who says she doesn't trust me as I am on Twitter, my new friend and I have been chattting for weeks, and sharing our desires for a stable relationship

I am pleased to report that there is a growing interest in my presence of Twitter, the interest is now with 50+ ladies closer to my age, than the previous interest, which was from young ladies on sex chat sites. I have nothing against the girls, or sites, it isn't my thing.

I am still trying to believe that ladies find me attractive, despite the many ladies on Twitter who compliment me.

Some like my nose, many like my beard, most like my gentle approach. I am old-fashioned, and show ladies respect which is rare in these days of young men trying to force themselves on ladies.

Years ago, a friend in Newcastle said I was like a dinosaur, in the nicest way, in a world of immorality, I stuck to my moral code of repspecting ladies; she also said, I stood out like a diamond in a field of coal.

I tell the ladies, they are in control of what we talk about, this gives them the knowledge that they are safe
