 My Anniversary

A lifetime ago

Today holds a special memory for me.

While most people will be celebrating Bonfire night, a practice I have never enjoyed, today is a special anniversary for me.

In 1978, at the age of 24, I was demobbed from the Royal Air Force, at the end of my six-year tenure; during my time, I served in two war zones, Germany, and Ireland.

Germany may appear an area for a war zone, but in the mid-70's NATO was on full alert status, expecting a terrorist attck from the Red Arm Faction, after the jailing of Ulrike Meinhof and Andreas Baader. For my services in Ireland I was awarded the General Service Medal

Children's Television

This afternoon, I stopped using Twitter to promote my eBay page. The reasons are numerous, this is an example of its use to me.

I placed the children's television series, Timeslip, from the 70's on eBay, and used only the site's promotion tool, already the DVD set has surpassed all others I have for sale, in only a few hours. Usually, my Twitter promotions do nothing, but without the site's help, this series has already got NINE people interested in it

My Twitter account is active, but I am NOT going to use it.

The reasons for the decision are many.

I have a lady friend in Gloucester who is worried she will lose me to one of the young ladies on the site - there is NO possibility of that happening.

I have been using the site, mainly to promote my eBay page, but the effect is minimal.

The site has a small, getting smaller by th day, effect on the blog readers.

I was getting bored writing the same information to over 40 young ladies each day, many of the young ladies are after money I can't spare

Is the romance going to end before it had a chance to grow?

I have serious doubts my romance with my lady friend in Gloucester will go anywhere.

She has been hurt so often, she doesn't want to give me an opportunity to prove my love for her. As I have several lady friends on Twitter and Telegram, she has convinced herself I am a "ladies man," which I am not.

If I am with a lady, she is the centre of my world, no other can take her place, and I won't go looking

A Roman Catholic day of Remembrance

Though most people were out last night celebrating Halloween, All Hallows Eve, I doubt many will be celebrating today. Since Henry Viii broke from the Roman Catolic faith, England has been a Protestant country, and All Saints Day is celebrated in Catholic countries.

Today, Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead,begins a two-day feast to remember relatives who have passed away
