My Noir Days

  French New Wave Cinema

                                           A much Praised story

My Noire Thriller about the fight to recognised as a police officer by Pat Canella was highly praised for its authentic style by Queensland writer, Pat Ritter, who was a police officer for many years.

I prefer the French New Wave Cinema of the late 50's, and 60's to the more glamourous image of police life prtrayed in the 70's, and 80's. Police work involves a lot of time searching through files, and walking the streets, often with little results. Rarely do they have the car chases as seen in Starsky and Hutch. Many times, they solve the crimes, only to have them thrown out because a politician has influence in court.
