The number of blog readers has returned to its usual low figures, after the surge of yesterday from readers of Jessica Scachetti's blog departed.

Yesterday the readers were over 4,000, today they have not reached 2,000, I think that says a lot about the appeal of my blog 😞😞😞

In one way, the headline could be misleading, in another way it tells the sad truth of my life as an Indie Writer.

I do have a December eBook sales boost, yesterday, the opening short story in my science fiction series -Forgestriker - sold a copy. To most writers one sale is nothing to get excited about, for me, this is the first sale in almost a year

                                I knew it would not last

It was nice to see for a short while the blog had over 100 readers, I was under no illusion the situation would last long, and it has not. Today, it is back to it's usual, less than 50 readers - is it worth writing?

Losing the use of Facebook has impacted the readers, but not a lot.

The hook

The hook is a writing term which shows the writer has taken the care to intrigue the reader with either a qiestion, ot a situation the reader did not expect in the story, usually shown in the opening chapter.

When I was writing stories, I was known for keeping the reader guessing until the final page.

I do not use a tred to boost readers for the blog, but from time to time, I will use a song title to grab the headline,

In this case, "After the goldrush by Neil Young,"

I knew the masses of readers I had earlier today would dry up, and they have; the blog is back to struggling to ger 7 readers per post
