As my wife passed away in January 2025, I am selling some of the DVDs I bought her on eBay, I am not trying to erase her memory. I am selling DVDs which I have no interest in watching, like the series on the post. The original MacGyver series was great, to say the reboot is moderate is giving it a compliment it does not warrant.

There are some comedy shows for sale too, those did nothing for me either. There are some sets, I won't part with, such as the original MacGyver series, Bring "em" Back Alive, Rat Patrol, and Marine Boy to mention a few.

One of the main tasks is to re-edit my award-winning selection (shown here), in the years since I wrote the selection my role as editor has greatly improved, and I aim to improve the standard of writing, while maintaing the essence of the theme. I won't be adding more stories to the books already on sale, I am not in the same place - mentally - as I was 13 years ago, so I cannot get in the thoughts from that era.

On Twitter, I often get approached by book promoters, they try to get me to write again, this is something I aim to do this year.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

The usual price is a minmum of $150.00, for what?

All they will be doing is adding the book to a series of sites, many of which will be useless to me.

My aim for the year is to create a series of links on Draft2Digital as the year goes on. I know, I have been a critic of the site, and its policy of lending books out, now I know the error of my ways, I can orevent the error again.

The big plus is I won't be paying someone over £100.00 to do something I can do myself. Okay, they know sites I don't, but would those sites bring sales?

For years, I could not understand the Hindu religion banning a widow from marrying again; this was based on meeting a young lady of 29 who was a widow, when she was only 29.

Now my wife has passed away, I not only understand how deeply love can influence you, but I understand how my aunt who lived in Southampton felt when her husband of 40 years passed away.

No matter how long I live, life will never be the same without my Linda, I miss her laughter, cuddles, and voice as we chatted for hours.

When I get the urge to write again I hope to begin with my erotic romance story. This excerpt garnered lots of praise from various sites online, how much was genuine is up for question.

Another aspect I may undertake, even for a short time, is to open a website called Alan's Books to see if I can get more sales this way than using Draft2Digital. The only way I could see less for my writing is if I paid the readers to buy the eBooks. If I got fees once in three years, that was a miracle, the reason is the use of the lending library system. This system allows readers to rent out as many books as they like for a fee, the library pays the distributor, but unless there are masses of sales, the writer never sees anything.

Some of the writing I may do will be in the Gothic styles, I have a romance I am working on, and a version of the story may be turned into a horror story, similar to Ghosts Don't Dance.

Recent events have had me re-evaluating my writing career.

For decades, I thought the writer who despised me winning the award in 2012, and trashed my book online was the cause of my decline, but the truth goes further back than 2012.

Like most people who sell items, I added my eBook selections to Amazon for sale, without realising I had no sales opportunity as the site is like a department store, not a book store; which is why I put my eBooks on Draft2Digital for many years.

Other than a lack of sales from Amazon, my bestseller on the site had sold 25 copies in a decade, that is because it sold several copies, twice, in a weekend, my next bestselling eBook had only sold 15 copies in a decade.

The rot set in as soon as I added my stock to Amazon, because of their returns policy. I saw two of my stories about dragons had sold, but because the buyer had returned the eBook within days, all I got was a tiny raise in the rating for the eBooks. So, I wrote another short story, and sent in. I got the reaction I expected, it was snapped up, and returned within two days. 

That was when I reaised I would be fighting a losing battle selling on Amazon.

Today, I begun adding my late wife's DVDs to my eBay page. I had hoped some would sell, but not on the day I added them.

Tonight, I had one sale for the Lovejoy box set with Ian McShane, and an offer for the Chinese box set Monkey.

Add that to the two single DVDs I had sold this morning, and I can safely say I haven't had a day this good since I was selling my Warhammer books three years ago.

Many of the sets are unseen, I bought the for my wife, but she never opened the boxes.

This Tchaikovsky opera is one of two I am selling on eBay. The other opera is Carmen featuring Placido Domingo, and Catherine Malfitano which was filmed in the area of the opera, and at the time of day the opera was set.

I have not seen either of the DVDs, and the Carmen DVD is still in its wrapper. I did intend to make an opera DVD selection, but there were so few available 10 years ago.

Reform UK MP Richard Tice makes some good points in the House of Commons, and makes certain the government is aware of the error of their ways.

However, unless he joins the Conservative Party, he will be forgotten as another Nigel Farage stooge. Look at Farage's track record, THREE elections, three failures. The last time somebody had this record, and went on to win was in the days of Robert the Bruce.

If you don't believe me, who can name an MP for either the Brexit Party, or UKIP? Both are failed Farage attempts, he no more wants to help the UK, than his comrade-in-arms, Starmer. All Farage wants is to be Prime Minister, which he will not be.

I don't uphold any religion more than any other; they all have good points, and bad points.

In my view it is how you view life, I think the biggest error in UK religion came when Henry Viii broke with the Catholic faith. Not only did the break wreck his family, it led to years of wars, and witch hunts. Years when any lady who was not well liked could be accused as a witch, and either burned at the stake, or drowned.

Christianity is about the worship of the Son of God, but without the mother, there would have been no son.

I class myself as a Christian Scientist, not one of the loony fringe; I believe things written in the Bible DID happen, but they have a base in science not religion.

Did Jesus ask Peter to denounce him three times?

There is a belief that Jesus paid Judas 30 pieces of gold to have him branded as a traitor, so he could rise again, and build the new faith. I can well believe this, when you look at the Crucifixion story, there had to be some coercion with somebody after the crucifixion.

The facts belie the story, how can a man who has been tied to a cross, and is bleeding. Rise from the dead after three days?

As expected by the older generation, Labour are funding their failing economy plans by hitting the people who cannot defend themselves.

People like my wife, and myself, who are disabled and pensioners living on the bare bones of our allowances. To me, luxury is a day out with our youngest daughter. Usually, so she has someone with her when she gets her nails done. I can't afford to pay for a meal to be delivered, as I cannot walk. Often we go without making our food last longer.

Since moving across to South Bristol, I have often wondered why with a new hospital only a 10-minute car ride away, I have to go on a bus journey of over an hour to Southmead Hospital?

The answer is the South Bristol Health Centre is a useless waste of money, it is no more thab an extended hours doctor's surgery for sprains, and minor burns. If I sprain my ankle, or get a minor burn, I am not going to go crying to a doctor. I'd just rest in the case of the sprain, or run cold water over the burn, what would they do other than that?

I will admit, when Penny Mordaunt didn't get the vote for the leader of the Conservative Party I was not happy, however, Kemi Badenoch is proving a great leader. This take down of Angela Rayner is priceless, the way she greets the Deputy Leader, on one of her few visits to the House of Commons, before setting her up for slam dunk.

Despite her bravado, and mouthiness, you can tell by the look on her face, Angela Rayner knows Kemi is telling the truth, she HAS been set-up to take the fall for the lack of progress with the scheduled plans, which are castles in the air.

It is hard, yet I try to keep my views out of the blog posts.

Unlike some bloggers I used to read, I rarely push my politics, or boast of what little success I had when I was writing.

You could say, "You did write a lot about Israel."

I won't deny it, but what I wrote was more about the state's right to defend herself from attacks from Gaza. The Gaza issue is another point, I was trying to tell people that the people in Gaza decided to get help from Palestine in 1967, rather than Israel, which lead to Hamas using schools, and hospitals as silos for rockets, then crying that innocent civilians were killed.

How about your posts being anti-Labour?

Having lived thorugh several Labour governments, I can safely say they have not been the party of the working man - who they were supposed to be supporting - since the late 70's when the UK had strike after strike during Labour governments, it was so bad pensioners said it was worse than World War 2.

If we think I am too political, believe me, I could be far worse.

I am not saying the Conservative Party is never wrong, I was very anti-Falkland War. And, I am not saying Israel didn't commit crimes, such as the Sabra and Shatila massacre.

After World War 2, the Labour government of the UK created two sates which have been at war since those days,

The conflict between Israel, and Palestine is well-known, few people realise the wars between India and Pakistan still rage. The Kashmir region is still a bone of contention between the two states with the Radcliffe line running through Kashmir, and on the east Labour changed Bengal into East Pakistan, now Bangladesh,  splitting the Muslim population in two. Before then, Muslims and Hindus lived in relative peace. 

While Indian troops are ordered not to cross the border - Line of Control (LoC) - this does not stop the Pakistanis from firing missiles over the area. If India stays in her boundaries she is seen as seen by the world as defending herself, once they cross the border they are worried they'll be seen as aggressors.

The similarities to Israel are undeniable.

In the late 70's, a Labour government kept giving in to the unions, to the extent we didn't know which union was going on strike next, or what supplies would be rationed. People who lived through the wars, said it was worse than during the war. If it hadn't been for Margaret Thatcher, the government would have brought the UK down.

Bringing things to a more modern era, Starmer goes on about how the Conservative Party did nothing about rising immigration in 14 years, while he omits the truth - a Labour person twisting the facts ( how unusual) - it was under Tony Blair that a Labour government began the rising crisis.

Now, we come to what in the minds of even Labour voters is the worst government since the war.

Building a collection, as I am doing, of films from an era, you need to be careful as you are bound to get some cross over; the issue is if you buy a box set, how much of a crossover are you happy to accept?

In a set of six film, I am willing to accept two crossover DVDs, unless in the set there is a film which is unattainable elsewhere, as there was when I bought the Nargis Dutt set; I was unable to gt the film Jogan anywhere, which made the price -£20.00 - worthwhile, even though i had four of the films in other sets

For the last few days, I have been pondering about buying this box set of Rajesh Khanna films, as I do enjoy watching him. 

There were a couple of issues I needed to resolve, which I did.

I have two of the films already, if I thought I could sell them on my eBay page, I would add them, but sales are non-existent at the moment.

There is a larger issue than trying to sell some DVDs to offset my costs.

This is a double-barrelled issue, half of the other films do not appeal to me as stories, and they feature Tanuja, an actress I dislike.

I have three box sets of Indian DVDs for sale on eBay.

From today, I am going to split them, to attempt to sell the contents as individual DVDs; I have seen a couple of interested parties, I think what is putting the sale off is what made me hesitate. You may want some, not all of the sets.

I have a possible dilemma on my hands, if my offers for sales are take up from my eBay page.

On one side is the set above, I was going to sell it as I have most of the films in either or sets, or as films; I bought the set as it has a film I thought was unattainable. I found out I can download it from my favourite YouTube channel.

The other side is if I sell the film Babul, I will need to replace it, as I don't have a double for it. So far, as far as offers go, there is no concern as I sent several offers to viewers, and all got rejected.

As there is little sales progress, despite several offers I sent, I could be closing the page soon.

People will say, "if they are not on show, they can't sell," my reply is "they've been on sale for several months, why do you think a few weeks more will help them sell?"

This film is a treat for Bollywood fans; I am so pleased to see it is on Netflix. I will but the film once the price comes down.

A movie with Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit in will be a HUGE success this month. Both ladies are often forgotten amid the bright young things such as the Kapoor family.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa was great, not so the sequel which, in my opinion lacked the charm of Vidya, who return for this film.

My main weakness is accepting praise; I am so insecure, I always wait for the end, and the back stab.

This was no more evident than last year, the extract of Wild Child which I sent to various "promoters," was highly praised, yet, at the back of my mind was the thought it this real, or part of a scam?

Why did I think it was a scam?

In June of last year, I was so desperate for recognition at the end of 15 years of struggling, I allowed myself to be a scam victim. Some of the praises could be genuine, how am I to know?

I was close to calling it a day, being scammed was the final straw, not only did I get scammed, the people who did the scam, sent my email to their friends in Nigeria, I spent weeks of fending of "promoters" who knew less about publishing than I do about the surface of Neptune.

It could be read as a single ghost story, or as a part of a double set with the story Amelia.

The lost years could also describe my 15-year struggle for recognition as a writer, which I gave up this year; I haven't brought out a story for several years, I don't see the point in writing if nobody is going to read what I wrote.

I keep being asked by promoters, if I have plans for new books. I have no plan, or energy to write.

For several weeks, I have been trying to recall a film I saw featuring Amitabh Bachchan, and Shashi Kapoor as brothers, one is a policeman, and the other a thief; the mother is played by Nirupa Roy.

At first, I thought the film was Deewar, after seeing that film, I realised it wasn't what I recalled. 

                                            Today, I found the answer, the film is Suhaag.

                 All the time I was searching for the film it was in my selection; I have put of for sale on my eBay page. The reason I am selling this film, though I like it and wish to keep it is because it is on a double film DVD, and the other film stars Rishi Kapoor who I cannot abide. I can get a single edition of Suhaag for £5.00, you could say why biy a film you have? The anshwer is having the other film irritates me.

I have hit on two young men in India who enjoy my posts on Rani Mukerji, and Madhuri Dixit. All I need is for the same to happen for my posts on Raveena Tandon, and I may be selling DVDs.

Draft2Digital have a lending library policy which killed my sales over the last decade. This policy allows readers to oay a monthly fee to borrow books, but it means the writer never sees a dime for their work, unless they have mass sales which few Indie Writers do.

From now, I am taking my eBooks out of the system; I have nothing to lose as the system has cost me a lot in the last decade.

I am in doubt, I shall never recover the money I threw away on the scam I fell for in June. I was so desperate for recognition as a writer after my 15-year struggle, I foolishly fell for flattery.

The week before Christmas, I said I was putting my Indian DVDs for sale on eBay, and I estimated there could be 100. 

My ball park estimate, without any idea, has turned out to be spot on. I have 92 for sale as I write this blog, and not more than six to add, this combimed with the sale earlier this week comes very close to 100.

I do have some I need to check, but as far as I can judge, the 100 will be the limit for me. My new policy is to be more careful when buying, I bought many last year as they had some of my favourite Bollywood people in, but the rest of the cast let the film down for me.

If I see a photo of Angela Rayner, I see the image of a shrew - I aplogise to shrews - she alsways gives the impression there is a foul smell near her, could that be the stench of her hypocricy?

It is my view, given the option of having sex with her, or several Labour companions, or bathing my genitals is acid; it is a no-brainer, give me the acid.

Last year was the straw which broke the camel's back for me, in more ways than one.

After being the victim of one scam, in June, I was approached online by a person "claiming" to be actress Megan Fox, a ruse I saw through from the get-go.

This was followed by an attempted scam by actress Gal Gadot, I know this was her, as she sent me selfies of her, and the family, then asked me to pay for a $100 game card so her children could buy games. There she is in her lovely Los Angeles house, asking for money from a UK pensioner, how tacky can you get?

Next came Jewish writer, Limor Regev, I was sure this was "hinky" as she used the same ruse - a bind link from the hacked account od a bestselling writer, as had been used in June. This time, I was ahead of the curve, what kept me on edge was how she referred to her partner, she never named her agent, or said "agent," it was always Tricia's agent, as if the constant mention of Tricia would coax me, when I told them from the start I was not interested.

With two scam attempts from ladies with connections to Israel, is it a surprise my support crumbled?

With my taste in older fims from India, I find it useful to have a YouTube channel from which I could download the films, as few are available on DVD, and virtually none have subtitles as they were not made for selling outside India.

Watching Bollywood shorts on YouTube, one thing is evident to me, the need to get the video online is greater than the need for accurate information on the video.

There are other thngs which are evident, most can be put down to personal taste. I was considering expanding my YouTube channel, but what is the point, when I have few viewers.

My wish for 2025 is to sell at least one DVD from my page on eBay, I chose a low number, so I would not expect too much, an Ideal figure would be 1-a-week, which would mean by Christmas, I would have sold half of my Indian DVDs on eBay.

I estimated around 100, I think I could have underestimated the number by close to 25%, judging from a review of plots, and casts in the films.

I did not need proof of the SCAM, but it is now clear as glass.

The people who put me in contact with Fiverr were a scam team.

I had long suspected as much when they said there was a lot of interest in the book above, and pressured me to send another $50.00 to have the book added to Amazon.

The account of Lina Cruz AKA Joy Mautin has been deleted from Twitter. The team I was put in contact with, were a bunch of incompetents, probably based in Nigeria; as that is the only area who appeared to be intersted in me.
