Pre-Brexit UK

 A short HIstory Lesson

Our friends in Europe
The Labour voters, and anti-Brexit voters, go on about our friends in Europe, who are they?

France surrenderd in two world wars without fighitng, have not forgot a battle they lost venturies before called Agincourt, when English bowmen routed the best France had to offer.
Spain permitted Germany to travel through inhindered, thus giving access to North Africa. Our fishermen having been fighting for our right to fish our waters since before the 60's, and don't forget England best the Spanish Armada. More than anyting which angered the Spanish was the increasin cheap holidays from the late 1970's, it brought wealth, but also the cheap alcohol caused lots of troubles for the plolice.
I won't mention Belgium as they are so insignificant.
My view on Switzerland is the same as Sweden, little more than a waste of space.
Austria is a lovely country, and the people we met were nice, but it is really very pro-German.
I can't say a lot about Portugal, their policy to the UK was slightly better than to Germany, both sides could use the country, but had to pay fort he privilige; the difference being Germany had to pay as soon as possible, whereas the UK could pay as and when we can afford to.

As you see, the UK has no friends in Europe. If you wish to travel further, since the 1970s we've been at war with Iceland over fishing tights, back then it was known as "The Cod War."
When Britain had her back to the wall after Dunkirk, who cane to our rescue, it was the Empire, and the USA.
People who blame Brexit for business failures, are finding an easy excuse for bad business deals. A good example is recently a firm had to lay-off hundreds of workes, why? The owners had been shifted pension funds to rebuild Scunthorpe United football club.
Another example is the Honda plant at Swindon which had to lay workers off, again Brexit got the blame, when the blame was ttally in the Hands of Honda management who wrongly assumed their would be a boom for electric cars.

People wrongly say, if it hadn'r been for foriegn flying units the UK would have fallen; it is true, we're aided by massed pilots from Europe, but they were not here to defend the UK; they were to fight Germany.
