There are two main reasons I didn't go on my regualr walk to Asda, in Whitchurch today. The main reasson is I have no money until the middle of next week. The seond reason is the lady I had planned to meet there, doesn't live in Bristol, so I have no reason to go there.

I could do, after all I have earned three awards for my short stories, and was awarded another this month, ironically, for a book which was not mine, but I was part of a group of writers, who wrote a charity book for children.

The story on this post has garnered a lot of interest among publishers, unfortunately, I can't afford the minimum ammount for publicity.

I don't brag about my few successes, the only time I did, several writer friends in the USA stopped chatting to me, the irony is they had contracts, and qualifications, all I have is a vivid imagination, and the ability to write an engrossing story.

My stance on CND has not changed since my teens, no matter whether the Consevative Party, ot the Labour Party are in power, I am ardently anti-nuclear.

Since the 60s, yes that far back, there is a list of incidents, not all publicised of nuclear accidents. No ammont of theory will convince me, an element with a half-life that goes into thousands of years is safe.

A half-life is the ammount of time it takes for half of the element to be deemed "safe," what about the other half? 

The big ones such as Three Mile Island, Windscale, and Chernobyl are highlighted in our memories.

In the 60's there was almost a nuclear accident at RAF Leakenheath, when a USAAF bomber carrying bombs hit a shelter containing nuclear bombs, fortunately, the bombs were unnarmed at the time. 

There have been numerous incidents, which being minor didn't get reported, or in the case of Russia got silenced. In the mid-80s, I picked up a report from Kyev of an incident involving two trains carrying nuclear waste.

You may ask, why I omitted the Fukushima nuclear accident?

The reason is I am not sure it was an accident, the war between China and Japan still goes on, as do the wars with India and Pakistan.

You could call me a conpiracy monger, but wait?

Japan's economy is based on the sea, what better way to cripple an old enemy than to starve them, recall the Atlantic convoys of WW2, when Germany almost starved the UK into submission.

It is weird that not long before this incident COVID was released, at a time when Japan was geared for the Olympics, now do you think I am a conspiracymonger?

Never forget the Science 

In 1971, in a bid to win the war, for the deepest drilling, with the USA, scientists from Russia dug a hole so deep it became known as the Doorway to Hell, for several reasons.

They forgot the basics of Science, they didn't take into consideration the further from the support, they greater the sway. Try holding a ruler at arm's length, and note the ammount of sway.

So, they didn't only FAIL to beat the record, because of the depth of the drill it snapped. Now, you have bits of broken drill so deep they can never be retrieved.

You now have a burning sulphur pit exposed to air, that glows so hot, it can be seen from space. In one way, they did win, they created a disaster far greater than the fire in Centralia, Pennsylvania. Centralia could burn out, as it is underground, the one the Russians created in Turkestan won't burn out.

Watching YouTube last night was a reminder that some ladies get better with age, like fine wine.

I was watching a video about the re-union of actors from Classic TV shows of the 70s. The first show was Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), which showed how actress had Annette Andre had aged beautifully over the years. She is 86, and could show any modern actress age is no barrier to being attractive, without plastic surgery.

The second show featured was The Champions with Alexandra Bastedo, though she passed away a decade ago at the age of 67, Ms. Bastedo was as beautiful then as in her heyday. She also appeared in the series The Aphrodite Inheritance with Brian Blessed.

When you compare these ladies to the likes of Joan Collins, Ms. Collins pales in comparison. I often think, if not for her sister, Jackie Collins, Joan Collins would have been a nobody. Her roles before The Stud were mainly as an attractive young lady, roles without substance. In my opinion, there were better actresses, many, who didn't get the opportunity they deserved.

There's a fallacy that being a girl in a James Bond movie kills your career, that is TOSH. Honor Blackman remained a succesful actress until her death. Dianna Rigg had more successes after her Bond movie, Jayne Seymour had several successes in TV series in the USA. Why many weren't seen is the stayed in Europe to build a career, rather than go to Hollywood.

Many people use Ursulla Andress as an example of how James Bond can destroy a career, that is the biggest joke, Dr. No made Ursulla Andress. Before then, and after, all she was, is a low-grade actress from  Sweden, with large breasts. In my opinion, there are far better examples of beautiful actresses from Sweden

Tonight, I was almost hounoured with another award, but I couldn't accept it, why?

The award for being an outstanding writer of 2026 was for a book I helped write, over 12 years ago. The book was one I wrote for while I was writing for the charity, The Peacock Writers, who are based in the USA.

To me, it would have been wrong to accept the award, as the book is not mine, and besides that, I can't afford the cost of promotion, such is the price of being an Indie Writer. The Peacocks were a group of writers in the UK, and the USA, I am the only one who never got offered a contract

I can say with certainty I have no interest in the 2006 World Cup, the last World Cup I watched was the 1974 event. My interest in football died shortly after that as money became the driving factor, and stars rather than local talent took over.

The shirt I am wearing is the Middlesbrough shirt of the time, why Middlesbrough, it is the city I was born in, for the same reason I supported Yorkshire CCC for decades, despite their lack of success. I am an advocte for supporting local talent.

Lots of people say they would love to be a football manager, not me. Consider this, your job is based on success, and no matter who you are, there is a finite number of trophies to win, you have more chance to fail than win.

To some people, my phobia about trains may appear weird, to me it is a real issue as I am disabled.

Several years ago, I saw a video of a lady who fell under a train, and got crushed, I thought, "that could be me."

There were many differences, the lady was drunk at the time, I rarely drink more than a pint of beer a day. My concern was that being disabled, the step down from the train to the platform is a risk for me. That is why I limit my train travel to GWR trains which have a lower carriage, this means I can step out of the train, straight onto the platform.

The restriction bothers me slightly, but there is a lot I can see in the Bristol area, if I wish to go further, I can use a coach

As an exercise in self-evaluation, I added my profile to two sites aimed at a mature audience, to find out if ladies do find me attractive. My self-esteem has always been low. I never considered myself attractive to ladies, which could explain my popularity, as I don't push my sexaul attraction as some men tend to, I prefer to base the attaction of the possibility of sex with me, on my personality.

I have to say, I was suprised at the number of older ladies, who find me attractive, one lady in Didcot has got a serious attraction for me.

I think one of my attractions is though I wouldn't discount the possibility of making love, it is not my priority, I am more into building a firm friendship. As I say, "It is easier to turn a friend into a lover, than a lover into a friend."
