Views among Award Winners
Many years ago, when I was in contact with other award-winning writers, we agreed, unless you win an award such as the Booker Award, or the Orange Writing Award; it means nothing.
This is one of the reasons I chose not to enter the Bath Short Story Award, what does it mean? In 2012, I earned an award, the result was I became a pariah among other writers I knew at the time, from regular online chats, I was alone.
The reason for this is I never took a writing course, or went to college to get a degree, and I had no publisher interested in what I was writing; all I had is the ability to write an entertaining story.
