Why do I enjoy Film Noir?

I have alwas had a thing for Film Noir movies. probably because like life, there is no real right or wrong, only shades of grey. The first eBook sale I had was for a Film Noir themed short story (shown above).
I got the idea for the story while on vacation in Lac La Biche, Alberta, Canada when I saw a lake beginning to freeze in the November of 2009.
