My friend, and lover, Svitlana and I plan to meet in Didcot soon. A day out I would like is to visit Wallingford Castle, which is only 25 minutes away. This is the castle where Empress Matilda was imprissoned during the 20-year-period, known as the anarchy. This was a war of succession between Matilada, and her cousin, Stephen, caused by the death at sea of the righttful heir to the throne.

I made the error last night, of looking for Walsingham, which is a long way off on the Norfolk coast. I used to know a lady in nearby Fakenham, many years ago, she was my BFF, until she got married. We were friends for over 12 years, and I visited her twice during the time.

I can thank Pamela Olsted for one thing, if she hadn't made me question how mature ladies see me, I wouldn't have come in contact with my beautiful friend, Svitlana, in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

There are several reasons why I chose not to buy Tropico 7, though it would be a great birthday present for me, coming out in October.

I am struggling to complete missons on Tropico 5, which is one reason I didn't get Tropico 6.

I have both version of the film, the 1947 version with Tyrone Power, and the 2021 remake with Cate Blanchett.

The basic storyline is most fortune tellers have a "mark" in the crowd, a person chosen by the teller for the show.

The film is about not breaking rhe Golden Rule of doing a cold call, making a judgement on someone you met a few minutes ago. How many of us do that?

You see a person approaching, and try to judge them, a soft hand means they don't do manual work, a firm handshake usually means a strong personality. NIce clothes means they are paid well, or have money. 

When I was working for Bristol Museum, I met a man who slept on the doorstep of Blaise Castle Musuem, at first glance he didn't look like a typical down-and-out, it turned out a year earlier he had a well-paid job, a wife, and a family. Then things went from bad to worse.

He lost his job, his car, and the wages. After struggling for months, his wife left him, and he lost the house they had lived in. So, he'd gone from running a business to living on handouts in only a year.

I got to know a young lady who had chosen to live on the "fringe" as she found regular life too stressful. She was attractive, polite, friendly, and loving, she had two dogs which were well-fed. One Boxing Day, I went to give her some food, but she'd gone.

This morning, I had a mystery to solve. I was trying to think of the name of the blonde actress I was watching on dvd last night, for an hour her name escaped me.

I thought it was either Carole Lombard, or Lana Turner. It could have been Carole as I have seen, and enjoyed several of her films, I wish to see Lana's films, though I haven't seen any yet. I knew it couldn't be Jayne Mansfield, as I haven't seen, nor wish to see her.

The lady in question is Jean Harlow.

All the ladies died tragically, Jean was poisoned, Jean promoted at the "Blonde Bombshell," was a natural redhead, the chemicals used to dye her hair resulted in kidney failure. Carole died in a plane crash on her way to her husband, Clark Gable, worried he was having an affair with Lana Turner, something both denied. Lana was involved in an infamous murder case, the resolution of which is debated to this day. Jayne died in a car crash being trapped under sheets of glass.

Last night was another failed attempt to scam me, Amira jewellery, a company I never heard of, that doesn't mean a lot. Texted me on Twitter to say I had won a BMW as a prize for posts on their Facebook page.

They could be honest, but I go by the rule of "It's better to be safe than sorry." Besides what would I do with a new BMW, I can't drive, I am a disabled pensioner, and struggling to pay my bills. The last thing I need is a petrol guzzling car.

This may appear far-fetched, but it is far from the weirdest tale I was told 🤣🤣.

Years ago, I had a series of scam attempts put to me.

Several times I was told I'd won a lottery I didn't know about in the USA. I was told a Mininster had told his parishoners to help the poor, how did they know me, I never mention finanaces online, that is a 👎👎, as soon as people ask about my money, I block them.

There is the sugar momma, a lady claiming to be so rich, she feels she needs to help those less well off. The best is I was told I appeared in three ladies dreams.

One scam I tell freinds about is the Evan Kate scam. 

The usual approach goes like this, you'll get a text along the lines of my father has just died, and I have taken over his business. The next phase is they will send you some photos they "claim" are from their factories. You can't prove they aren't, and they can't prove they are from their factories. The images could just as easily be downloaded from any page online. The stage at which I didn't get passed is when they ask, what would you do with $20,000?

At this point, the next stage would have been to ask for bank details.

I could have been wrong, I don't think I was, I have seen many pages with the name Evan Kate attached in some form, including one attached to Pamela Olsted aka Clara Kent, who took me for $1,0000 pretnding to be in love with me. PO has a police record for identity theft in the USA. At the time I saw her name attached to Evan Kate I wasn't sure what to think, as I knew Evan Kate to be a scam.

A Complex Question

That may not seem a complex question, I have many places I have been that I would love to revisit, not counting Scarborough. I can return to Scarborough each year, and be a happy man, I love the city.

Did Svitlana mean anywhere as a place, or as a variation, like any seaside, or woodland area?

There are few places in the UK I dislike, the main one being Blackpool. The city she lives in, Didcot, interests me as there are many museums there, and palaces we could go for a romantic walk.

A year ago, I ordered the Thin Man series from eBay of films for my wife, they never arrived before her death in January,2025.

This is where the mystery begins. The set was supposed to have been delivered, and handed to me, but I could not find the DVDs, at first I thought I had misplaced a small set. After having a second set arrive, months later, the mystery only deepened, the set is wider than than the spread of my hand, how could I misplace, and lose such an item?

One answer comes to mind, they were delivered to the wrong address, and the people are dishonest, and kept my DVDs.

Last night's dream was a little disconcerting as it started with my friend, Svitlana, deciding to end our friendship as a result of my cash shortage, and not being able to chat for long online, I can't blame.
