Why don't I Praise myself?

I used to be asked, why don't you praise your writing more?
I could do, after all I have earned three awards for my short stories, and was awarded another this month, ironically, for a book which was not mine, but I was part of a group of writers, who wrote a charity book for children.
The story on this post has garnered a lot of interest among publishers, unfortunately, I can't afford the minimum ammount for publicity.
I don't brag about my few successes, the only time I did, several writer friends in the USA stopped chatting to me, the irony is they had contracts, and qualifications, all I have is a vivid imagination, and the ability to write an engrossing story.
In short, I don't praise myself as I don't class self-praise as praise.
