The Three Khans who rule Bollywood

 The True Khan

If you wish to succeed in Bollywood, there is one rule - do NOT anger any of The Three Khans, as producer Boney Kapoor found to his cost when he angered Salman Khan.
Boney asked Salman to tell his son not to talk to his daughter, the next thing Boney knew is he was relegated to filming in South India. While there is a good audience there, the major cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Hyderabad are in the North, and under the control of the Khans.

Who are the three Khans?
Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. Of the three, only Shahrukh is still popular with the fans in India.
Though being a member of the ruling Kapoor family, who have run the cinemas in in India since the 1940's when their grandfather was the draw, Boney is the least successful of his generation, which lead to a marriage of convivence to Sridevi, the icon of Indian cinema at the time, and to a mystery the family have hidden since her death several years ago.
The name Khan goes back to the era when the kings of what was Persia ruled, Khan is Persian for king. I am sure if you went far back in time, there may be some remote connection to a royal lineage, however, there is one Khan whose linage is within memory.
Saif Ali Khan.
Saif's father was the cricketer "Tiger" Pataudi, he married into the Tagore family, one of the most influential in Bengal, when he married Sharmila Tagore. Sharmila's father was a noted Bengali writer, and Tiger's father was the last Nawab of Pataudi, a small state in Bengal. The title remains in use, at the moment there is a legal battle as the heir is a young lady, and the Nawab has to be a male descendant.
The state the Nawab rules today is little more than he size of a medium city.
