The Strange Report

 RAF Cosford

Do you believe in ghosts?
There are several strange incidents recorded at the RAF Museum, RAF Cosford.
One of the most peculiar is the sound of switches being clicked on, and the running of the rngines of the Lancaster in the exhibition. I never heard the switches click, or the engines roaring, I was in the musuem during the day.
While helping set the museum up, in 1975, I did experience what I can only expalin as a sensation of being watched.
Messerschmitt 262
The museum used to  house one of the Messerschmitt 262A's to survive WW2.
The Messerschmitt 262A was the last hope for Germany, the plane was the first jet plane to enter the war. If they had been mass produced, they would have won the war; however, they were plagued.
Their main drawack, other than entering to late to make any effect was they used so much fuel they could only be used near the fronlines, and by the time they flew, Germany was on the retreat on all fronts.
Another failure of the Me262 was it was notorious for blowing up, either on take-off, or on the rare occasion it could land. The problem is the had no undercarriage as they were launched from a rocket-powered sled. The high octane fuel burned so hot if it caught fire, which was often, it was able to melt the pilot.
Having being on two crash guards, I can imagine the sights, and smells such a fire would have.
There are many reports of airmen seen around airfields in WW2 uniforms, I have never doubted their existance, people wonder why they walk through what is a hedge, then disappear?
You need to realise the spirit is a lost soul retunring to an airfield he recalls, not what we see today.
