Did the Curse of Ooty kill Geeta Bali?

In January 1965, actress Geeta Bali died while making her final film, Rano, though she died from smallpox, could she have been a victim of the Curse of Ooty?

I was watching a YouTube video about the 10 most haunted places in India, and Ooty is among them, the city has numerous apparitions going back to the days of the Raj.

Among the cast of the film was Dharmendra, the leading actor in India at the time. With Geeta's death the film was halted, and forgotten.

Jump forward 20 years, and actress Hema Malini, the wife of Dharmendra was offered the role in the film Ek Chadar Maili Si which was a remake of the film Rano. Her usband tried to get her to turn the role down as he considered the film jinxed, but she refused.
