Alan Place - Ghost Story Writer
My Reputation as a Writer
The earliest reputation I earned as a writer was for writing good ghost stories.
One reason, in my mind, for this is I believe in ghosts; I have had several discussions on my stories, based around the perception of the term ghost story. To many people a ghost story is written to thrill, or scare the reader. I have written several in this vein, but I prefer to call my stories spiritual stories, most of the characters in my stories are lost spirits trying to find a way to cross over into the next realm.
Why do I believe in Ghosts?
Life is spirit to me, a form of energy, our spirit cannot be destroyed; as you boil water it turns to steam, but the water is there, only in a new form.
Do I believe in Spiritualism?
I believe certain people can contact the spirits of the dead, I admit there are people who are charlatans, and prey on the grief of loved ones, but there is proof of real ghosts. In recent years, it has been proved scientifically that sound can be recorded in stone, so why should the spirit of a person not be saved in the stomes of the place of their death, especially if they met a violent death?
Am I afraid of ghosts?
I cannot say for sure as I have not seen one, that I know of, with my belief I don't think I would be worried if I saw a spirit.
