I never knew my grandparents
A rare Photograph
What makes this photograph rare?
The event is the marriage of my aunt, Mabel (centre) to my uncle. Aunt Mabel was the kindest person I knew.
The lady standing on the right is my maternal grandmother, this is the second time I have seen her face, she died when I was three years old, to her right is my maternal grandfather, a have few memories of him, we left Yorkshire when I was six, and the nest I heard he died, when I was 16.
Sitting on the right is my mother, the lady on the left is my aunt, Joan, the other man is her husband, Stanley.
I tell my grandchildren, they have something I don't, memories of their grandparents.
