The Kapoor Family
Being the son, or daughter of a famous parent doesn't always bring success; the same goes for brothers or sisters.
Raj Kapoor, and Shashi Kapoor were respected from the late 40's to the early 80's, but Rishi Kapoor I don't rate as an actor; I have seen him in several films because he often appeared with one of my my favourite actresses in India, Reena Roy. There are other Kapoor family members who are like Rishi, living of the family name; in my opinion it is only the current generation who have the acting ability of Raj, and Shashi. I have to admit to being biased as so many of the Kapoor clan have lived off their name, rather than their acting ability, I am pleased to say Karisma Kapoor, Kareena - Kapoor-Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Shraddha Kapoor showed me there are members who can act, after generations of people living off the Kapoor name.
The same happens elsewhere, most people know Hayley Mills is the daughter of Sir John Mills, few people have heard of her elder sister Juliet Mills. Most people have heard of Felicity Kendall, few would recall her sister Jennifer Kendall who died in the 1980's. Perhaps the best known family at the moment are the Baldwin kin, who told Alec Baldwin he could act must have trained Rishi Kapoor.
The Madhuri Dixit Trend
I bought then as many feature actresses such as Madhuri Dixit, and Aruna Irani who I enjoy watching, but I soon realised the stories in Anil's films are like those of Salman Khan, geared to his dancing ability; the same as Shammi's were geared to his singing ability. Anil isn't the member of the Kapoor clan I can't watch, I can't stand to watch Rishi Kapoor either, which is a shame as he often appeared with one of my favourite actresses, Reena Roy.
