A Viscious Circle
The Twitter Scams
This week on Twitter, I have been trying to convince a young lady in Cape Town, South Africa - if I am to beleive her profile - that I have no interest in writing.
The situation is the same as before; a contact I had never heard of tries to convince me she knows how to get my eBooks selling, all I have to do is pay her $100, so she can be paid for some Resource Management Allocation software.
Apart from not being able to afford the expense, I have several other issues. I don't trust this person as I was a scam victim not long ago, and this scenario has played out before to my detriment.
As an Indie Author I need to weight outlay Vs Income, and this outlay would require me to sell over 30 eBooks, to break even; that is more than I have sold in the last 14 years.
Better safe than Sorry
I realise my safety first stance could be stopping me from being recognised as a writer, but these days, I play on the side of caution as you can't tell who is genuine.
