Nagin

How can you turn a good movie into a seven-series show?

                                                                          Harry Potter

Regardless of two of my favourite actresses from India being in two versions of the movie Nagin; I intend to do an unbiased study of the film, based on the technology available, and the story as it adhered to the original.

To most viewers in India, Nagin means Sridevi, as she appeared in to versions of the film. So too, did Rishi Kapoor; as much as I dislike Rishi as an actor, the film I saw him in is the worst I have seen. The movie was made several years after the classic Sridevi version of 1798, yet the filming is so atrocious it made amateur film makers appear like Ingmar Bergman. The props are barely hidden, and the photography is tacky.

For me, the worst aspect of the film it has one of my favourite actresses, Rekha in, what must be one of the worst films she is associated with.

If you are wondering what links this article to Harry Potter; I read ana article which said J.K.Rowling had added the role of a Nagin-like character in one of her stories.

The image at the top of the post is from the "original" film made in 1954, making the movie 70 years old.

In 2017. the TV producers decided to re-invent Nagin, and turned a very good film into a seven-serries set of half hour shows. This means for each minute of the film, they produced two half-hour long episodes.

Which is my favourite, I haven't seen all of the films I have bought, so far, with no bias, I would say the film the Reena Roy, made in the late 70's. I say with no bias, as Ms.Roy is one of my favourite actresses from India. You cam see, I have no bias as the film which followed with Rekha is in my opinion the worst; that included ti two movies which came out in the mid 2000's as cheap sex movies using the Nagin name to boost interest only.
