I have nurtured my personality to be my strong suit, as I never considered myself attractive to ladies, I have been proven wrong in the last year, with several ladies offering to meet me, and some saying they are keen to make love to me

If glamour is the attraction, personality is the magnet that bonds the relationship of two people.

I may have been drawn to my friend, Svitlana, in Didcot, Oxfordshire, for her looks, but it is her personality which is keeping us together. We bonded closer through a shared desire for a lasting relationship in our later years.

My friend is a little older than me, she is 74.

To some extent, most of us are involved in the cult of personality, myself included, whether it is in music, films, or reading, we all have our favourites.

Some listen to their favourite performers, others will listen to their favoutite pice of music, no matter who plays it. One of my favourite pieces of music is Der Wanderer  by Franz Schubert. This piece has an emotional attachment for me, it was one of the first pieces of classical music bought for me, by a late aunt, I enjoy the piece, no matter who plays it.

I also like music by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev,Shostakovich, Bizet, Weber, and Brahms to mention a few of my favourite composers. I am not ra fan of Mozart or Beethoven. Though I do enjoy some of their works.

My aim when I added my profile to a mature dating app was simple, I wanted to view how ladies see me, not for my vanity. I wished to find now ladies saw me. The result was beyond my belief, not only am I seen as attractive, many are requesting to meet me, and some state they are looking for sex.

My wish was to haopefully make a few friends, and if they arein the UK, possibly arrange a meeting. Things didn't go to my plan, my gentle personality has won me admirers all over the globe. I couldn't cope with half of the request to meet.

Contrary to my view of my sexuality, ladies do find me attractive.

I never considred this possibilty, until July, 2025, when I added my profile to some mature dating apps, and was amazed by the reaction from ladies worldwide.

I have built a personality, that draws ladies to me, not only from a sexual view, but from the respect I show the ladies online. I do not push myself on a lady as some men do, I let the low of the chat draw us close. The subject of the chat is determined by the lady. I happy to chat about sex, if she chooses, but I don't take that direction.

Last week I wrote two posts about Jaya Bachchan querying if she had issues over either her looks, or her acting ability. It would appear from a recent YouTube video, I was incorrect.

Jaya's issues are related to her personality, she was filmed having an argument with a photographer. You may say her age is a factor, but the issues go back to the mid-80's when she accused the actress, Rekha, of having an affair with her husband. The row erupted as they appeared in several films together; yet, she never attacked Rakhee Gulzar who also featured in several films with her husband, Amitabh Bachchan.

I never see my charms, as I don't consider myself attractive to the ladies.

By relying on my personality, rather than my physical attraction, I have enabled myself to gain the friendship of several ladies over the years I have been online.

I did have sex with a few, two ladies were older than me, most were around my age at the time. Some meeting, such as the ones in Catford,  Bath, and Redditch were a total washout. None of them lasted more than a few months, but this is history. 

I am happy now I have been chatting to my friend, Svitlana in Didcot, we plan to meet soon, to build a relationship. Svitlana is an older lady too.

The first question I have no definite answer to, I can only tell you what ladies told me. They feel safe chatting to me, because I am respectful, non-assertive, and don't view a lady online as a target for sex chat, unless she chooses to chat about sex. I have been told I have an endearing personality which draws people to me, I will admit that is true.

The answer to the second question, lies with my my friend in Oxfordshire, I have no wish to end our friendship, I am hoping it turns into a relationship. From our recent chats, that is what Svitlana has in mind too.

From the response to my profile on the mature dating app, you would think I had a charm to enchat the mature ladies who seek my company.

The charm I use is my personality, and not forcing myself on a lady. If a lady wishes sex chat, she is free to begin, but I don't chat with sex in mind. I shall admit, many of the older ladies I chat to, I do see as very attractive, especially Svetlana, my friend in Valencia.

If I have a flaw, which I do, I can never be accused of being vain. If anything, I am the opposite, as until recently, I never considered myself attractive to ladies, I still don't, but, apparently many ladies on Twitter do consider me attractive. It isn't only Twitter, I had so many requests to meet, I had to leave Telegram, Signal, and Zangi, I am still on WhatsApp.

I think why ladies find me attractive is I am not about myself, my personality is to pleasure the lady in my life, sometimes that means I get the pleasure, the main thing for me is the giving pleasure to the lady

The opinion of my granny friends is they think I am too hot to handle. Several of my online contacts are trying to arrange to meet me, many for sex.

There are some I would like to meet, only if Svitlana, my friend in Oxfordshire decided to end our friendship, which from her letters to the app we share, is highly unlikely to happen.

I have done nothing out of my usual freindly personality to attract attention, this would appear to be my charm. If you start to impress people, sooner-or-later, you will falter, and the real you will come out.

Other than being my usual non-assertive personality, I don't do anything I consider unusual, yet, the mature ladies I chat to find my pesonality attractive. I think one of my charms is that while I don't object to chatting about sex, I don't lead the chat in that direction.

I don't see a lady who knows what she wants, and isn't afraid to ask, as a threat, I find her arousing.

I have never viewed ladies wearing glasses as an issue, my late wife, of 38 years, wore glasses all the time we knew each other. I had two girlfriends who wore glasses. Before you start a thought process, that is not a trait I look for. I didn't realise a young lady in Bristol Museum wished to ask me out, but I didn't realise this, she was attrctive to me, and yes, she wore spectacles. There was a young lady in Clevedon who liked me, but she was Taboo, she was the girlfreind of a close friend.

I could out this down to the highly romantic posts I have been adding since I joined the mature dating arena, this month. My friend, Valentyna, lives in France, where I don't know as my cash shortage limits my time online this month.

My allure to the ladies knows no boundaries, I have admirers across the continents. My charm is relying on my personality, not my sex appeal.

The time has come, I think, to attempt to clarify my sex appeal.

This will be my outlook on what is happening, as I have little contact with many of the ladies who see me as attractive.

From lady friends I used to have, in ages past, certain trends appeared in our chats. It isn't always about physical attraction, I have never considered myself attractive to ladies.

The most common trend in the comments are I respect the ladies. Unlike many men, I see a lady online as a lady looking for someone to talk to, not as a target for a sex chat. If the lady wishes to talk about sex, that is her choice.

I have been told, I have a gentle personality, and I am pleasant to talk to. I built what popularity I have on being a nice person, not on seeing myself as a he-man type. Looks can change, the person usually stays, there are exceptions to all rules.

I have never cosidered cosmetic surgery, even before I knew of my genetic flaws, I discounted the idea. The only thing I would have liked is black hair.

Since joining two Mature Dating apps last month, I have been overwhelmed by the number of mature ladies who find me attractive. I am both delighted, and a little scared. I joined the sites to find out if ladies found me attractive, end of the story, I never thought of going further. I have a friend in Oxfordshire who is adamant she wishes to meet me soon

Our online chats are venturing more into explicit sex these days. I have no objection to this, within reason. There is more to me than sexual attraction, as Svitlana is finding. She has said, she is attracted to my personality, as much as my my sexual attraction

I am not being superficial, when I say I couldn't have sex with a lady I found unattractive. If I can't get aroused, the sex will be bad for both of us.

The main thing which arouse me are a nice personality, respect, a nice figure, nice hair, and not being too pushy. One of the mature ladies I chatted to is getting ahead of herself. She is talking about going to the next stage already, we have only just touched base, and she is heading to second base.

Not only is this off-putting, her attitude is getting nasty. I prefer a gentle pace, not a sprint, I realise, age is our enemy

Cooking is a way for me to be imaginative, and do something positive in my life.

Among the stories which are gathering interest is my Award Winning eBook short story selection, The Chronicles of Mark Johnson.

This week Sloane Crosley asked a question I had been asked many times, how much of your character is based on yourself?

The truth is quite a lot, that is probably why Mark feels so real, I put a lot of my personality into him, most notably our distain for the cult of the celebrity.

At the moment, the story is not for sale, as I closed my Draft2Digital page, it never made money. The selection earned an an award in 2012, but never sold. My friend who died last year, asked if she could refine the few errors in editing the story, that began a 13-year friendship.

This week on Twitter, as many times before, I have been in conversation with a younger lady who told me she feels safe talking to me.

Over the decades I have been chatting online, I have been told several times by ladies, they feel safe talking to me, why?

A) - Unlike some men, if I see a lady online, all I see is a lady seeking company, NOT a lady looking to hook-up for sex.

B) - I don't force myself on a lady.

C) - I am not the type of man who is all about himself, to the exclusion of the lady.

D) - I am easy to chat to, I have few things I won't chat about. I won't talk about money, that subject usually leads to the ruin of a conversation. I am not against talking about either religion, or politics, but I would rather not, those topics can lead to animosity.

My Golden Rule

I will not direct a chat to sex, but if the lady wishes to discuss it, that is fine with me. If we discussed the subject tonight, I do not assume the lady is open to chatting about tomorrow, unless she chooses.

We older men may not be as energetic as young men, but older people have more to talk about.
