Sling your hook
Pirates
These days, when somebody says "Sling your hook," they mean go away.
The original meaning was the opposite, in the days of the pirates, the ship's captain would shout to his men, "Sling your hook" as a signal to throw a rope to draw his ship closer to another vessel.
The term "Cut and run" hasn't changed, it still means make a dash for freedom, in the old days, pirates would cut their ropes to free themselves from a ship they attacked
