Nuclear Power is the Ultimate Scorched Earth Policy

 What is a cenote?

Gateway to Hell

The ancient Mexicans considered a cenote to be a gaway to hell, in some respects they are right, they are sinkholes which appear from nowhere, there is no way to locate tehm as they are usually old mines, which nobody logged.
                                       Soviet Stupidity

In 197i, in a bid to beat the USA for the deepest drilling, Russia drilled a mine in Turkestan. The mine was deeper, but it was so deep the drill snapped. So, they have a broken drill in a shaft nobody can acces, if that wasn't bad enough, they dropped a flare into the pit. What made matters worse, the pit was full of sulfur, anyine who knows basic cheminstyr knows Sulfur burns on contact with air, add to that you have the heat of the flare, and you have a fire so big it can be seen from space, and nobody kows if it will burn out. This is so bad, it makes Cenntralia look like a match compared to a housefire
