Vintage Motorcycles

 Pre-1965 races

Motorcycle Racing
I won't deny I love vintage motorcycles, though the bikes and engines have improved, the pre-1965 era were the heyday of the British Motorcycle industry.
In the world of Motocross names like BSA, Greeves, and Cotton reigned supreme, with many foreign riders riding British machines to world championship victories.
In Road Racing the top names were BSA, Triumph, and Norton.
In Trials, one of the top names came from Yorkshire, the Scott motorcycle.
I love this story from the Dalesman magazine, based in Yorkshire, from the late 70s.
A group of sheep herd some some motorcycles approaching, and went to investigate, seeing they were Britich, they stayed to let the sound drift away. After a few minutes, the unmistakeable sound of motorcycles from Japan was heard approaching, the sheep turned away and climbed up the hill 😂😂😂
