A few minutes ago on YouTube, I found myself correcting a common misconception about motorcycle rider Joey Dunlop.
What is the misconception?
The misconception is that people with little knowledge of the sport consider him ine of the greatest riders of his era, BULLSHIT.
He never raced on the UK mainland.
He maybe the best rider who rode the courses in Ireland, but fdew of the major riders rode there,
He was NOT one of the best on the Isle of Man.
He rode mainly against his brothers, who wouldn't be out to spoil his records.
His TWO rides in the GP curcuit, ended with a 6th, and an 8th position.
He never raced against the best riders in the UK, never lind the World.
