I get amused by people selling Advent Calenders around my birthday, in mid-October, but to start selling them in September is ridiculous, I appreciate cat calenders are a huge selling point, but really, Advent Calenders in September?

As the final quarter of 2026 approaches, I can say this year has been another year of hell for me. I suffered a cash shortage caused by knowing a scammer called Pamela Olsted, who "claimed" to live not far from me in Bristol. We began an online chat in November 2025, and I ended it in June 2026, I think she hoped for it to end in August, as her birthday is in July.

The only good thing that came out of knowing her is I found ladies do find me attractive, as I added my profile to two dating apps.

It is probably my depression tainting my thoughts, but I am getting the idea, despite her constant sexual undertones, my friend, Svitlana, in Oxfordshire has cooled about meeting me.

Though we get on well online, our chats are short as we share a chat room, and I have a cash shortage for the next month. She understands my situation, but seems reluctant to want to leave Charming Talks so we are not limited by money.

If thinngs do cool off, I hope they don't, I will take my profile off the dating scene. I would like to visit Didcot next year, if we don't meet by my birthday in October, there are places in the area of interest to me, not least Wallingford Castle

My popularity on dating sites last month has not changed how I see myself. I cannot understand why mature ladies find me attractive?

My immediate plan is to get my finances settled, I can do this by limiting my online chat to my friend, Svitlana, in Oxfordshire.

Once I have achieved this, I can think about arranging a meeting in Didcot, to see if we can turn our friendship into a relationship that will last.

There are several reasons why I chose not to buy Tropico 7, though it would be a great birthday present for me, coming out in October.

The main reason is I am hoping my  online friendship with Svitlana can turn into a relationship, once we meet. If this does hapen, I may not have time for pc games.

This will be the second game in the Tropico series I have not bought.

I am struggling to complete missons on Tropico 5, which is one reason I didn't get Tropico 6.

If I do have time, I am thinking of trying to play Thief, though it is a first-person game, and I find it hard playing them. I got on well with the 3rd game in the Thief series, which I played on X-box.

My first thoughts were will I earn enough from eBook sales  on Draft2Digital, to get royalties by my birthday in October?

My concern has changed, I now think I won't get them at all, as there are numerous compaints online about D2D, since they joined with Smashwords.

I never trusted Smashwords from the outset, and online reports confirm my thoughts it is a scam. I won't recieve much £7.00, but if I do, I will stop using the site, as despite them taking on various other platforms, it hasn't boosted my sales

In a few months, I may go on a short trip to a place I have wished to re-visit for such a long time, I can't recall not wanting to go, the venue is Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust. I didn't realise how close the site is to the railway station at Cam & Dursley.

The best time to go would be for my birthday in October, that is when the migrating swans visit from Russia, but it is beautiful anytime of the year.

Thanks to one kind person who bought an eBook last night, the answer is yes, even if it takes a month or two to recieve them, I passed the minimum $10 mark for the first time in three years.

In the last two months, my life has taken a new direction. In June, when I ended my business partnership, I can't say friendship, as we never met in person, with a lady - who turnined out to be a SCAMMER - I decided as a final act, I would add my profile to two Mature Dating apps, to find if ladies see me as attractive, not for vanity but for an evaluation, I never consider myself as attractive.

I was proved wrong, ladies find me attractive, at the point when I had given up on romance, romance found me. A lady in Didcot, Oxfordshire, has taken a shine to me. Svitlana is adamant she wishes to meet me to form a relationship.

Today (March 27th) would have been my late wife's 70th birthday, sadly she passed away in January, 2025.

Though I possibly have a new lady in my life, we haven't met yet, my friend lives in Whitchurch, Bristol, not far from where I live in Hartcliffe. I will never forget my wife, it is hard to forget a lady who was part of my life for 40 years 💔💔😢😢

I've read the usual commnents from young ladies trying to impress me, and they are like "water off a duck's back." They try to think they are original, but I've read them so many times, I see the formula.

That changed in October, 2025.

Today, I reached the grand age of 69. This will be the first birthday in 40 without my lovely, she passed away in January.

Yesterday on Twitter, I had several requests from ladies to write a story for them. As a gentleman, it is my pleasure to give a lady what she pleases.

This will also give me something to occupy my mind as I have a bad series of months ahead beginning next week with my birthday, this will be the first time in 40 years my lovely wife won't be with me. Then follows Halloween, that was always my wife's delight, she used to enjoy the sweets the children didn't get, over the next weeks.

Then there is Christmas, last year was the best my wife had for many years, she was taken to see the lights on the houses, she helped prepare our dinner, and a few days later, we saw our fox cubs close. Less than two weeks later (Jan 17th), she passed away.

The pain doesn't lessen there, there is Valentine's day, and then my wife's birthday in March
