Meeting Svitlana

It is probably my depression tainting my thoughts, but I am getting the idea, despite her constant sexual undertones, my friend, Svitlana, in Oxfordshire has cooled about meeting me.

Though we get on well online, our chats are short as we share a chat room, and I have a cash shortage for the next month. She understands my situation, but seems reluctant to want to leave Charming Talks so we are not limited by money.

If thinngs do cool off, I hope they don't, I will take my profile off the dating scene. I would like to visit Didcot next year, if we don't meet by my birthday in October, there are places in the area of interest to me, not least Wallingford Castle

The ideal birthday present for me, would be a sleepover with my friend, Svitlana, she has suggested it, not at my request. As Svitlana mentioned the subject, it is her choice to ask. I will not raise the subject again, if she raises the subject we can discuss how to go forward. I will be happy to spend the day with her, and return to Bristol with happy memories. All this is a long way off, as my birthday isn't until October

Yesterday on Twitter, I had several requests from ladies to write a story for them. As a gentleman, it is my pleasure to give a lady what she pleases.

This will also give me something to occupy my mind as I have a bad series of months ahead beginning next week with my birthday, this will be the first time in 40 years my lovely wife won't be with me. Then follows Halloween, that was always my wife's delight, she used to enjoy the sweets the children didn't get, over the next weeks.

Then there is Christmas, last year was the best my wife had for many years, she was taken to see the lights on the houses, she helped prepare our dinner, and a few days later, we saw our fox cubs close. Less than two weeks later (Jan 17th), she passed away.

The pain doesn't lessen there, there is Valentine's day, and then my wife's birthday in March

I won't push my idea, it is the lady's choice to ask, Things hinge on whether we meet, and how we get on, we got on well online this month. I am prepared for not to turn up, it would be a shame, yet the day won't be wasted.

My popularity on dating sites last month has not changed how I see myself. I cannot understand why mature ladies find me attractive?

My immediate plan is to get my finances settled, I can do this by limiting my online chat to my friend, Svitlana, in Oxfordshire.

Once I have achieved this, I can think about arranging a meeting in Didcot, to see if we can turn our friendship into a relationship that will last.

I've read the usual commnents from young ladies trying to impress me, and they are like "water off a duck's back." They try to think they are original, but I've read them so many times, I see the formula.

That changed in October, 2025.

Coming out of the depression of losing my wife of 38 years, in January, 2025, I changed from depressive Twitter posts, to slightly more optimistic options, with immediate effect. 

Two weeks before my birthday on the 18th, a lady from Gloucester, who is a history teacher from the USA, sent me a mesage saying "I want to suck your c@@k until you cum in my mouth, then drink you dry." Thanks to one kind person who bought an eBook last night, the answer is yes, even if it takes a month or two to recieve them, I passed the minimum $10 mark for the first time in three years.

Today (March 27th) would have been my late wife's 70th birthday, sadly she passed away in January, 2025.

Though I possibly have a new lady in my life, we haven't met yet, my friend lives in Whitchurch, Bristol, not far from where I live in Hartcliffe. I will never forget my wife, it is hard to forget a lady who was part of my life for 40 years 💔💔😢😢

I have doubts

My first thoughts were will I earn enough from eBook sales  on Draft2Digital, to get royalties by my birthday in October?

My concern has changed, I now think I won't get them at all, as there are numerous compaints online about D2D, since they joined with Smashwords.

I never trusted Smashwords from the outset, and online reports confirm my thoughts it is a scam. I won't recieve much £7.00, but if I do, I will stop using the site, as despite them taking on various other platforms, it hasn't boosted my sales

I've had this scam played on me for many years; never with any success, why would I send a gift to someone who is virtually a stranger?

For now, I am too busy to have time to think about my wife with getting the house prepared for a series of inspections when I take over the tenancy next week, but what after that?

There are days, when even a short break from work causes me to sit in tears, today was one of the worst days since my darling passed. Instead of celebrating her 69th birthday, we spent an hour where her ashes were laid.

I used to lose myself in my writing to escape, what is the point in writing a story, if you know nobody will read it?

As a finale to my writing, I sent a request to a literary agent in London two weeks ago, don't hold your breath for success, I am expecting another rejection

Many moons ago, I bought the software to play the game Frostpunk from CD Keys. The problem was, at the time, my pc didn't have the capacity to play the game as it wasn't a gaming console. last year, my family upgraded my pc to a gaming console for a birthday/ Christmas present for me.

Recently, I have been trying to free space, last night, I was able to free enough space on the disc to install the game. I did try to play Metro Redux a short while ago, but my daughter, Sarah, told me it has a major hitch you cannot kill some of the monsters. 

I am more at home playing games like Tropico, than First Person Shooter games, my reactions are not up to the speed for FPS games. I usually have problems with First Person games, as I find it hard to play when I don't know the position of the character. Saying that I am looking forward to playing Thief, as I loved the original Xbox game.

To get my next roalty fees from Draft2Digital, I need to sell 4 ebooks in a year, you may think for an award-winning writer such as me that would be a piece of cake, yet it has taken me three years to earn $6.30c.

The rerason for this is they use a library system were the reader payys a fee, and can take out as many books as theyy can read in a month. The writer gets their fees, if they sell a set number of products, but nobody knows the number of sales needed. Things were struggling before they joined with Smashwords, I had a bad feeling about SW from the time I read the founder makes more than Amazon, this was re-enforced when other writers told me they had not been paid for sales.

I doubt I will be paid by my 70th birthday, this time next year.

When I get contacted by a young lady via Twitter, WhatsApp, Zangi, Signal, or Telegram, my warning signs go into full alert. Usually, it a variation on the Birthday Scam, my first question is what does an attractive young lady see in a man old enough to be her father?

While some men may get turned on by girls young enough to be their daughter, I am not one.

I sold an eBook on Draft2Digital today, while that may not appear odd as I have been writing for over a decade, this is the first sale this year.

The image on the cover does not relate directly to the story, but it does relate indirectly. The story is about a flood which occured while I was living in Clevedon, North Somerset.

The cover is a photograph I took in Scarborough, North Yorkshire in 2010, five years earlier Scarborough suffered a severe storm similiar to the one in my short story which tore the sea front open.

Though I have many ebook on the site, I doubt I shall be paid by my 70th birthday, in two years time.

The way I get my royalties from Draft2Digital for eBook sales, I am not expecting any fees until at the earliest around my 70th birthday, if I am alive then, in three years time.

The reason for this is the site lends books to libraries, and the writer rarely sells enough to be paid for their writing.

The only plus for me, is when I was on Amazon, I was fortunate to sell.

Three days ago, I sold this selection of Hindi DVDs on eBay. No sooner had I finalised the deal than Aan got misplaced, so I bought a replacement.

Typical of my room, once I had stopped searching the DVD turned up, I am not worried as it gives me one more to sell, and put towards the money for my birthday present.
