Harry Potter beats Science

 Why New Mexico?

Conspiracy Theories
The recent post on the YouTube channel, The History Guy, asked the question, why are so many hoaxes based in New Mexico?
The name of the state is the clue, New Mexico, as the title says in on the border between the USA and Mexico.
It was under the control of Spain for centuries, so this lead to a culture clasn between the Catholics of Mexico, and the Christians of the USA.
As the far reaches of the state, law was almost non-existant. So, the area was rife with legends of mysterious things.
The most recent hoax is The Skinwalker Ranch, there is NO known record in Native American history of such a being. I am suprised nobody saw the hoax, It appears on a ranch owned by one of the men involved in the TV series, and wasn't reported until 2000.
I would believe more in the incident at Roswell, than anything connected to a TV series.
A little-known scientific discovery was made in 1997, a large metal sphere three times the size of the Earth was discovered in the orbit of the Sun, why didn't this make the news?
At the same time, a book based on Harry Potter was published, as they say, "The rest is history." Science lost out to a cildren's book
